Pink Ladies: Building a Community Where Women Can Grow Together

What started as a vision to bring 50 women together has grown into a thriving community centered on connection, collaboration, and empowerment.
Founded in 2022, 50 Women in Pink was created by a mother-daughter team with a goal of bringing women from all walks of life together to share experiences, build meaningful relationships, and support one another's personal and professional growth.
The organization welcomes more than just entrepreneurs. Whether women are business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, working traditional nine-to-five jobs, navigating career changes, or simply looking to expand their networks, the mission remains the same: creating a space where every woman feels welcome.
At the heart of 50 Women in Pink is a philosophy of collaboration over competition, encouraging women to recognize the power of supporting one another.

From 50 Women to More Than 100

One of the biggest highlights of this year's event was the tremendous growth and support the organization received.
When the founders first introduced 50 Women in Pink in 2022, the goal was simple: bring 50 women into one room. Four years later, that vision has expanded into a sold-out 2026 event welcoming more than 100 women.
The growth represented more than an increase in attendance. It demonstrated the growing desire for spaces where women can connect, find inspiration, share resources, and celebrate one another's accomplishments.
This year's event also featured an impressive lineup of accomplished women who shared their experiences and expertise. Among the featured guests were Charmaine Sanders of Females Who Flip, known for her work in real estate; Tenyiah Patterson, a successful restaurateur and top-performing State Farm agent in Illinois; Dedra Simmons of Pookie Crack Cakes, whose business has gained attention for its high demand and daily customer lines; and Mikk Mill of Mikk Mill Consulting, whose platform focuses on mentorship, credit education, and business consulting.
The gathering gave attendees an opportunity to hear firsthand about the challenges, sacrifices, lessons, and perseverance behind building successful businesses and careers.

Growing Without Losing the Mission

As the event continues to expand, organizers say one of their biggest challenges is maintaining the intimate and intentional atmosphere that made 50 Women in Pink special from the beginning.
The goal is not simply to host an event where attendees take pictures and exchange business cards. Organizers want women to leave with meaningful relationships, valuable resources, and information they can apply to their everyday lives.
Coordinating speakers, sponsors, vendors, and the many details behind the scenes requires careful planning. However, the continued growth has also encouraged the organization to evolve while remaining committed to its original purpose.

More Than an Event, It's an Experience

This year's gathering was designed to offer attendees more than a traditional networking opportunity.
In addition to its speakers and panelists, the event featured local vendors, sponsors, interactive games, prizes, raffles, and signature goodie bags.
While the activities added excitement to the occasion, the most meaningful moments happened through the connections made throughout the room.
Women exchanged contact information, supported participating businesses, discussed ideas, and celebrated one another's accomplishments. Those interactions reflected the very reason the organization was established.

Looking Ahead

The vision for 50 Women in Pink extends well beyond its annual gathering.
Organizers hope to introduce more opportunities throughout the year for women to network, collaborate, exchange resources, and develop lasting relationships.
For the founders, building the organization alongside mother Tera Thomas has made the experience even more meaningful. What began as a vision in 2022 has grown into a community that continues to bring women together and create opportunities for connection and growth.
Four years after setting out to bring 50 women into one room, the organization has more than doubled its original attendance goal.
And if this year's sold-out gathering is any indication, 50 Women in Pink is only getting started.

Encouraging Women to Recognize Their Own Success

Organizers hope every woman who attends leaves understanding that she does not have to navigate life's challenges alone.
Sometimes, the resource, opportunity, encouragement, or connection someone has been searching for can come from simply starting a conversation with the person sitting next to them.
The organization also emphasizes that success looks different for every woman. It does not necessarily mean owning a six-figure business. For some, success may mean earning a promotion, returning to school, starting a side business, improving their finances, or becoming more confident.
Through 50 Women in Pink, organizers want to continue creating a community that recognizes and supports every stage of a woman's journey.
